Here and Now
My latest experience was a Senior Technical Support Engineer for ServiceNow as part of the Service Management team. I owned the resolution of 100+ complex backend performance and functionality issues monthly across customer instances, leveraging platform knowledge, AI tooling, and cross-team collaboration. I advised and educated customers on Flows, Approvals, Service Catalog, and JavaScript code implementations including logic optimization, debugging, and adherence to coding standards.
My wife and I recently celebrated our 20th anniversary in January. In January, I also started my search for my next role. I had a very positive experience at ServiceNow and learned a tremendous amount there. I especially enjoyed solving complex customer issues, developing internal tooling, and collaborating across technical teams.
What I realized, though, is that I’m most energized when I’m deeply involved in full product engineering — architecting systems, building scalable applications, improving APIs, and contributing directly to product development over the long term.
I’m now looking for a role where I can leverage my broader full-stack engineering background more extensively, particularly in TypeScript ecosystems, cloud infrastructure, backend architecture, and scalable SaaS environments.
Senior Developer
While waiting for my non-compete agreement to expire, I worked for AAA as a Field Service Technician. After that, I worked as the Lead Web Developer and IT Administrator for GS Line. I was responsible for full-stack development of their SaaS sites for various clients including Stanley Black & Decker. I created wireframes, mockups, and met with prospective new clients. Ub addition to development, I was responsible for server administration, database administration, networking, computer hardware, and other duties as required.
I next was hired by Workbay as a Senior Web Developer where I was responsible for full-stack web development for their SaaS platform and related client sites. At first, we primarily used PHP's Symfony framework and Doctrine CRM on the backend and an AngularJS frontend. During my time their, I led the charge on architecting and designing a new backend using TypeScript to take advantage of Node's superior asynchronous and multi-threading architecture compared compared to PHP. I reimaged the entire database design in Postgres instead of MariaDB, which we were using at the time.
We also started working on a new frontend in the latest version of Angular, and we setup a shared library for sharing of interfaces between frontend and back to ensure consistency in API requests/responses. I also developed various microservices for job data using languages like Python, Go, and even PHP. We started incorporating AI elements for data normalization, searching, and more.
Mid-Level Developer
My next significant experience with web development came when I was hired on as Mid-Level Developer at The Storage Group. I worked on several client websites that were built in Wordpress. I also worked on a variety of things using PHP, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript. During this time, I also began building an online dashboard from scratch using PHP's Yii 2 framework.
I worked my way up to Director of IT where I could continue working on the Dashboard as well as various IT tasks like cyber security, cloud management, and other development projects. I also took over the role of Director of Development where I was in charge of a team of approximately 12 frontend and backend developers. I then took over project management for the latest version of the ClickandStor SaaS product.
Junior Developer
My first position with development as a primary responsibility was a Web Developer/ IT Administrator for Quality Marking and Promotions. I developed website for their business using a fairly basic LAMP stack with a frontend built in pure HTML with CSS and some vanilla JavaScript. When I wasn't designing or developing, I was responsible for their networking, computer hardware, and GoAutodial server.
I worked on various other projects including some for myself like iOS and Android development while I worked at various jobs.
Early Career
While attending classes at Valencia, I also worked there in a campus computer lab. As an Atlas Access Assistant, I helped other students register for classes, apply for financial aid, and plan out their educational goals using various online tools. I also spoke to groups of students at New Student Orientations and Student Success classes about using their online account for registration, degree auditing, and more.
A little less than a year into that position, I was promoted to a Student Support Specialist where I would supervise the very same lab I worked. I interviewed prospective employees, mentored existing employees, and worked with other departments to assist students, faculty, and staff. In the new role, I also incorporated my development skills by designing and building an online portal using ASP, HTML, and MS Access for our employees that allowed for training, submitting requests, and viewing their schedules online. While working in the lab, I also met my now wife around the same time I took a full-time role as a Security Clerk on Valencia's East campus.
First Steps
I'm a lifelong technology lover who has been programming and developing websites since I received my first PC, a 75hz Packard Bell, in the sixth grade. It took a lot of trips to the library and early websites(like HTMLGoodies.com), but I pretty quickly learned BASIC and HTML. By the time I entered middle school, I had also learned JavaScript, CSS, and HTML4.
In high school, I worked on a technical certificate in Business Computer Programming while at Professional and Technical High School. As part of that program, I learned Microsoft Office, Visual Basic, Java, and Oracle databases. Upon graduation, I had my high school diploma, technical certificate for Business Computer Programming, and several other certificates.
In college, I originally went for an AS degree in Computer Programming and Analysis. I took several courses in computers, programming, and web design. Some of the classes I took were C, Java, Networking, Scripting Languages, and Computer Hardware. I earned my Associate in Arts degree in General Studies and a few more certificates for Computer Programming and Web Development.
